I am so excited to announce that I placed third overall in the recent Federation of Canadian Artists Landscape show with Golden Sunset. It is a 16 x 16" gallery wrapped canvas and is for sale.
I textured the canvas to start and then used a combination of acrylic ink and Golden fluid acrylics to build up layers. I used a metallic copper thread at the horizon line and it acted like a resist to hold the ink in.

Copper Fusion -Mixed Media Abstract
I started this piece by building up textures with gel medium. I then dropped inks into it and let them run. The last step is letting go of some areas and defining the focal area. I added some opaques and black. It is 16" x 16" painted on a gallery wrapped canvas. Contact me if yu are interested in purchasing this piece.

Ocean Serenity, Imitating Encaustic with Acrylics
This is a 8"x 8" gallery wrapped canvas that I tried to imitate the look of encaustic and am pleased with the results. I have several layers of gel medium built up and finished it with the soft gloss gel to give it a clouded effect. It has a lot of depth and I love the colours.

Abstracted Realism
Mystic Mountain
Inspired by the rockies and a moody sky this very aboriginal looking woman appeared in my painting.
Deep in Thought
This painting was totally intuitive, as I was splashing some colour onto my canvas I saw this face appear.

Mysterious
Once again this face intuitively appeared out of an abstract I woas doing, check out her eye is was a stamp from Africa that I had put inbefore she appeared, the postmark her pupil with the white of the stamp above it. Her hat is enhanced with cheesecloth.

I tried to be abstract!!
