Patt Scrivener is theThird Place Winner in the Federation of Canadian Artists Landscape Show

I am so excited to announce that I placed third overall in the recent Federation of Canadian Artists Landscape show with Golden Sunset. It is a 16 x 16" gallery wrapped canvas and is for sale.
I textured the canvas to start and then used a combination of acrylic ink and Golden fluid acrylics to build up layers. I used a metallic copper thread at the horizon line and it acted like a resist to hold the ink in.

Dream, Encaustic Collage

I really enjoyed doing this Encaustic Collage.  The vintage image of the little girl is sweet, she has such a dreamy look on her face.  I can totally relate as I spent many hours daydreaming as a child.
It is a 10" x 10" cradled panel.  I finished the edges with the black lace.  I am really enjoying the use of buttons and how they work with the wax -they don't have that glued on look like they do with acrylic. The word Dream is done with a Rub On which works so cool and is so much easier than doing a transfer.

Strata -Mixed Media Painting by Patt Scrivener

This is the new collage -many layers of built up mediums, fluid acrylics and paper. I have made most of the papers myself even adding coffee grounds to one of them to emulate rock.

Deserted In Blue, Photo transfer on Canvas

This is a photo I took many years ago enroute from Edmonton to Saskatoon.  It is a deserted convent, so much history and all a bit eery. This is on a small 6" square gallery wrapped canvas. I have transferred the image and then painted and stamped into and around the photo transfer.

Ocean Serenity, Imitating Encaustic with Acrylics

This is a 8"x 8" gallery wrapped canvas that I tried to imitate the look of encaustic and am pleased with the results. I have several layers of gel medium built up and finished it with the soft gloss gel to give it a clouded effect. It has a lot of depth and I love the colours.
