It is a 16 x 16" gallery wrapped canvas and is for sale.<br />
I textured the canvas to start and then used a combination of acrylic ink and Golden fluid acrylics to build up layers. I used a metallic copper thread at the horizon line and it acted like a resist to hold the ink in.Patt Scrivenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15076470492449128693noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4908126553865192431.post-91264933848539594542011-01-27T22:09:00.000-08:002011-03-20T18:22:47.503-07:00Golden Hills, 4" Collage<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfYr8ekK90iexS806YttqM8FmYlR-AFNo2Qdn2f8s-Yf14h2DXSnOWSvWw1qiwBUE1j7OL-laDvBuXipVk1jLHBmBXubq9gvXRaXfJgtARkmMd6IeegKPVOfdT2V15nu8q1g2hOnvhs40E/s320/Jan+18%252C2010+Art+002.jpg" width="320" /></div> Scrivener Patt, Golden Hills, 4x4" Collage, ©2011<br />
This is a small collage I made with gold foil from Christmas chocolates and a lovely vintage book. The other papers are hand painted tissue and deli paper. You can buy it on my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/pattscrivener">http://www.etsy.com/shop/pattscrivener</a>Patt Scrivenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15076470492449128693noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4908126553865192431.post-88559886580771152782011-01-19T11:02:00.000-08:002011-01-19T11:02:20.273-08:00Painting Without Brushes Class<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8caEUblZq5mwRLfzHS7buPkV7Pow6Z4DK38q6xhTfpmu6NOYqEqjakB1jM49OOyf789Zh_61mNv-pTcHsVkpRs3YoiIeB3K6RxIJHA41kIY0nyfweDDaOqVoaZR1No4d2O3DvyWeNG7tg/s1600/Paint+Without+Brushes.Class+Dragonfly++in+the+Making.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8caEUblZq5mwRLfzHS7buPkV7Pow6Z4DK38q6xhTfpmu6NOYqEqjakB1jM49OOyf789Zh_61mNv-pTcHsVkpRs3YoiIeB3K6RxIJHA41kIY0nyfweDDaOqVoaZR1No4d2O3DvyWeNG7tg/s320/Paint+Without+Brushes.Class+Dragonfly++in+the+Making.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

The vintage image of the little girl is sweet, she has such a dreamy look on her face. I can totally relate as I spent many hours daydreaming as a child</b></span>.<br />
<b>It is a 10" x 10" cradled panel. I finished the edges with the black lace. I am really enjoying the use of buttons and how they work with the wax -they don't have that glued on look like they do with acrylic. The word Dream is done with a Rub On which works so cool and is so much easier than doing a transfer.</b><br />

This is the tribute I did for the Nick Bantock Contest. It has photo transfers and collage elements including stamps , maps and wire screen.<br />
I used TAP transfer paper for the transfers, it worked great on the watercolor paper. It is a 5" x 7" image.Patt Scrivenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15076470492449128693noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4908126553865192431.post-14862676142470852702010-11-08T22:28:00.000-08:002010-11-08T22:28:25.683-08:00Federation Of Canadian Artists Small ,Smaller, Smallest Show<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicPbHY0iFNgZb9MbOpLvyEzaplEPNhsjWnAF6AzP1pVpJxt6hiqwRRnyb89lY07PjE0Em8fgMEhuMvPobevHTjg8CRpxzYkSF_C2L7eFtFF8TCqRDbVPvkVQ4xhfqvb1sMdrvJvGzAnapf/s1600/2010%252Cnov+02+011.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhP9u6Dk5uxQQxJt-6GqN0rt811gMorAySXwbRk3A9U6OoBQgT_iKngPisrvnA03M_JyyFz-gIjhKN7RH3b4Oy0N_2h0-7krX6ZB6P8M_fUUgGgL6B9qHMiUv9bbaw3UdpaM0Syh3g931y/s1600/Black%252Cgold%252C+and+Red+all+Over.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhP9u6Dk5uxQQxJt-6GqN0rt811gMorAySXwbRk3A9U6OoBQgT_iKngPisrvnA03M_JyyFz-gIjhKN7RH3b4Oy0N_2h0-7krX6ZB6P8M_fUUgGgL6B9qHMiUv9bbaw3UdpaM0Syh3g931y/s320/Black%252Cgold%252C+and+Red+all+Over.jpg" width="309" /></a></div> Black, Gold and Red All Over 12 x 12<br />

I started this piece by building up textures with gel medium. I then dropped inks into it and let them run. The last step is letting go of some areas and defining the focal area. I added some opaques and black. It is 16" x 16" painted on a gallery wrapped canvas. <span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This is the chair I painted for the Grandmothers for Grandmothers Nanaimo group. It is a bit whimsical - entitled the Joyful Goddess. It has words of inspiration and encouragment written on it as well. I sincerely hope that it brings much pleasure to who ever wins it at the auction. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to such a great cause.
